What is a diamond?

Diamond is a precious mineral with a chemical structure of pure carbon, DIAMOND in English, and is one of the hardest substances on earth.
Diamonds are usually transparent or translucent crystals with a very high refractive index and scattering ability, resulting in a very beautiful fire effect when illuminated by light.
Diamonds are widely used in jewelry, industry and scientific research. The value of a diamond is determined by its weight, color, clarity and cut, with weight being the most important factor. Diamonds are mainly produced in Africa, Canada, Russia, Australia and India.
Diamonds are formed deep in the earth by high pressure and high temperature. In the interior of the earth, carbon is affected by high pressure and temperature to form diamond crystals. Diamonds are usually found deep in the Earth's crust and require prospecting and mining to obtain them.
The quality of a diamond is mainly evaluated by the 4Cs: Carat, Color, Clarity and Cut. Each carat is equal to 0.2 grams, and the higher the weight, the higher the value. Color refers to the color of the diamond, usually white is the best, but sometimes there are colored diamonds, such as blue diamonds, yellow diamonds, etc. Clarity refers to the flaws and inclusions inside and on the surface of the diamond, the cleaner the diamond, the higher the value. Cut refers to the cutting process of the diamond. A good cut can make the diamond's fire color more colorful.
The rarity and preciousness of diamonds, combined with their beautiful appearance and unique fire color, have made them an important raw material for jewelry. In many cultures, diamonds have also been given special meanings, such as representing love, power, and status.
